General Policy. The Presbytery of North Alabama has two web sites: www.napresbytery.org
and www.maranathaccc.org. The Presbytery’s Communications Committee is responsible for
maintaining and authorizing payment for those sites. The Committee also has final responsibility for the content of these sites. Since the sites were designed for multiple managers, the Committee has delegated much of the day-to-day management of the sites to the Executive Presbyter. The Executive Presbyter may, in turn, re-delegate that management to others.
Management. The Communications Committee delegates all authority for making additions, changes, and deletions to any part of the sites to the Executive Presbyter, with the following exceptions: the overall “look” of the sites (default masthead, footers, background color, and text attributes); content and blocks on the home page; and any links to other sites (see below).
Creation of New Areas. The Communications Committee must approve the creation of all new features and sections, but the Executive Presbyter will manage such new areas.
Deletion of Areas. The Executive Presbyter (or those to whom s/he has delegated authority) may delete features and sections for which s/he is responsible but should notify the Communications Committee of such deletions.
Links. Hyperlinks from NAP websites (either within articles or on the Links page) are permitted under the guidelines of the Communications Committee. The Committee has already approved links to . . .
- the first page of the PCUSA and Synod of Living Waters' sites.
- all PCUSA churches within our presbytery (where available).
- sites that have a direct relationship with our presbytery (i.e., organizations and missions that NAP partners with, supports financially, or endorses).
- e-mail of people who are points of contact for events posted on NAP sites.
- agencies involved with ad hoc projects of our presbytery (e.g., a link to Montreat Conference Center when the Peacemaking Conference is held there) but only on a temporary basis.
- our web host (Building Applications).
All other hyperlinks must be approved by the Communications Team unanimously.
